...Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics has a long line of comic book heroes that millions of nerds love. They are switching things up with Spider Man, on of their most successful brands and the reason we have at least 2 major blockbuster comic themed movies coming out every Summer. Above is the picture of Miles Morales, the new Spider Man. A half back half Latino teen who might also be gay... Fans will have to wait until the official Spider Man relaunch next month to find out how he came to be the superhero. Peter Parker, the original Spider Man, was killed off by the Green Goblin in June in a controversial move by Marvel which left fans aghast. Morales will have a different set of abilities beyond Spider Senses, possibly gaydar. I have a problem with modernizing things that have been so successful. On the other hand I like it. Why? hope they ruin themselves and create a major backlash with fans thus making it so I never have to see or hear about a major comic book themed movie coming out. I get that they are trying to appeal to the rising minority majority, but if that is the case

why not just make him 100% Latino? He looks off unless he is some sort of Dominican mixed something or another. I am giving Marvel Comics a Digit Up. The faster they fall, the faster good movies can be made again.

...Centenarians

A new study conducted by researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University have found that many very old people, age 95 and older, could be poster children for bad health behavior with their smoking, drinking, poor diet, obesity and lack of exercise. They followed 477 Ashkenazi Jews between the ages of 95 and 112 found out that they nearly matched the control group in terms of the percentage who were overweight, exercised (or didn't exercise), or smoked. One woman, age 107, smoked for over 90 years. The researchers think that genes may have a part to do in this. With that being said just because your mother lived to be 103 does not necessarily mean you will live as long, genes are a game of chance. Also people now age 100 lived in an era when obesity was nearly nonexistent and when daily exercise such as walking down streets or up a few flights of steps was more common. Their food was cleaner, less additives and mostly all natural. So what does this mean for us? Nothing at all. We are going to die before 70 and we still will not receive any Social Security. Science cannot use the Bible but it says that if you honor your mother and father your days will be longer. Can you imagine how short the days of our immoral

youth will be? Now we are all confused and I am giving these researchers a Digit Down for telling us things that a lot of us already knew.

Wolverine Wednesday: Asks if Armani is a Good Fit For Michigan?

One of the things that I keep hearing on the recruiting trail is that Michigan is looking for another top DB in the 2012 class. Which seems strange with the number of guys they have in the 2011 class and the couple in the 2012.

One of the guys that Michigan was on early but had kind of flamed out was Mass. Catholic Memorial cornerback Armani Reeves (4 star CB 5'11 185 pounds). The Michigan coaches wanted Armani to commit to Michigan early this past Spring, he wasn't ready and they both decided to see other people. Armani put ND and Penn State in his top group and Michigan got a commit from Terry Richardson and Anthony Standifer.

The Michigan coaches have reached out to Armani again and have him re-thinking his top list of ND and PSU. Armani is/was high on Michigan because of academics, tradition and ability to get on the field early. I kind of had mixed feelings because I wished I could have avoided the way everything happened, but they've always been one of my favorites. There was happiness and relief in there too. Penn State and Notre Dame are my top two so this shakes things up a little bit. It changes my path. It makes me want to think about everything and how I like the school so much with the academics. My major is there and the campus is great and all the guys there are really cool.

Sam Webb interviewed Ondre Pipkins, which should be up on the WTKA site today.

There have been some rumors that Michigan is still alive in 5 star WR Stefon Diggs recruitment. He is a talented young man but has some work to do in the classroom to qualify. With still his senior year left it still could happen.
