BIZ FED LIVE ACROSS AMERICA

We tackle the importance of the US Census count, which happens every 10 years and officially gets under way this month in LA County and around the country. There are millions of federal dollars at stake in ensuring an accurate count - as the census is used as a basis to dole out funds in areas including education, social services, job training and transportation. Los Angeles County lost more money than any other county because of undercounts in the 2000 census—an estimated $636 million from eight programs whose funding levels are most affected by the census.  Our guests will be founding chair David Fleming and BizFed member Fran Inman, senior vice president of Majestic Realty and chair-elect of the LA Area Chamber.
