...American Idol Singers

Some people really really really like America Idol, I would assume most of those people are middle school girls and their moms. If you have the extra cash and want to hire one of them to sing for you it is going to cost a lot more than I thought. I understand why some of these singers are for asking so much but, others...really???

We Are The Fallen featuring Carly Smithson - $5-10K
Blake Lewis - $10K
Lee DeWyze - $15-25K
Crystal Bowersox - $15-25K
Danny Gokey - $30K
David Archuleta - $30-40K
David Cook - $30-50K
Adam Lambert - $40-50K
Kellie Pickler - $50-60K
Fantasia - $50-75K
Clay Aiken - $85-100K
Jennifer Hudson - $100K
Daughtry - $200-300K+
Kelly Clarkson - $350-500K
Carrie Underwood - $350-500K

A lot of these singers(Kellie Pickler, Clay Aiken, David Archuleta, Danny Gokey, Lee DeWyze, Blake Lewis, David Cook) have had one or no hits at all! You may have to Google some of those singers to remember who they are, I would have but I did not care enough to. Apparently Carrie Underwood can charge as little as $200,000 if she is on tour and as much as $1 million if she is not. I guess I can understand a little, she has had a lot of hits, but I really would not pay $1 million to see her sing in my backyard. Kelly Clarkson! Really, half a million dollars to see you sweat and sing off key and run out of breath? Maybe in 2007, but not in 2011. Wait...not even in 2007. I think a few of these singers need to lower their prices, the show has not made all of you THAT famous. I am giving these singers a Digit own, though individually I understand, but as a whole I do not.

...Reruns

Can someone tell me why there were reruns on this week? I turn to ABC yesterday looking for some new episodes of "The Middle" and "Modern Family" but I find reruns. Today I turn to NBC looking for new episodes of "Community" and "Parks and Recreation" but I found reruns. Why? Is America Idol that big of a ratings draw that it causes other networks to show reruns? CBS had new shows Thursday. I would like to think that everyone is saving their good stuff for sweeps later this Spring. I know that we set our clocks forward one hour this Sunday, does that have anything to do with it? Doubt it. Now I am left with reality shows, which are new, and college basketball, which is not so bad. I still would have loved to have watched some good scripted comedy but I guess I can always go on Hulu and watch...reruns. Digit Down.

...Kara DioGuardi

Finally! Kara DioGuardi has finally left American Idol. After months of rumors and reports that she was going to leave, she stepped down on her own. She had this to say, "I felt like I won the lottery when I joined 'American Idol' two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave 'Idol. I am very proud to have been associated with 'American Idol' - it has truly been an amazing experience. I am grateful to FOX, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, as well as the cast, crew and contestants, for all they have given to me. I look forward to my next challenge, and want to thank everyone who has supported me. All the best to everyone on Season 10!" Since day one everyone wondered what was her purpose on the show. People though that her and Paula did not like each other or that she was supposed to replace Paula. That was not the case...not really anyway. Reports came out that Kara and the other judges did not get along and that she was not really apart of the group. I am sure no one will miss her, tough cookie, but for the most part no one even really knew who she was or what she did in the music industry, I still have questions. With Steven Tyler and Possibly Jennifer Lopez joining the judge's table for season 10, it will seem like nothing really changed. I am giving Kara a Digit Up for stepping down, although she could have done this earlier.
