The Atlanta Hawks are out of the playoffs and they did not put up a fight at all. I watched the game and it looked as if they gave up halfway through the 2nd quarter. I think it is time to make major changes. Sadly one of the biggest changes cannot be done. That change would be trading Joe Johnson. They were stupid enough to give him a max contract and they are stuck with him until something gives. I think ZaZa Pachulia needs to be traded as well along with Jason Collins. Jeff Teague was the only shining light throughout these playoff and he only got to start because Kirk Hinrich could not play. He needs to go as well. Finally they need a new and better coach. I know this was his 1st season and some would say he did well, I would beg to differ. He was an assistant coach who came into an okay team and they did what they did the previous years. Throughout this series with the Bulls the Hawks looked old and weak. They could not shoot a basket to save their illegitimate children's lives. If there is not a significant change next season I along with many other fans I have spoken with, will defiantly have to start attending Braves games or something. I am giving the Hawks 2 Digits Down.
My favorite basketball team has lost again. The Atlanta Hawks are looking horrible. I am wondering why, but I already know why. Their offensive looks horrible against the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are not that much younger than the Hawks and yet they are running circles around them. Jeff Teague is doing his est to help the Hawks, but where is Joe Johnson? The max contract player has been below par and very lackluster this whole season. He should give back $40 million because he is not performing well. The Hawks won a game in this series so far and they are only down a game, but if they lose again Sunday, as it seems like they will, then the series is all but over for them. If they somehow manage to win this series how will they be able to keep up with the Miami Heat? If they are lucky enough to win this series then they should only be so lucky to play the Celtics. The Hawks need to figure out how to score over 90 in the playoffs, wake up Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams and get Josh Smith more active on the offensive side, because he is doing well on defense. I still do hope they come back and win the series and even go to the Finals. A fan like me, a fan that has seen pretty much every game on TV and or in person for the past 3 years, we deserve this. We look old, slow and heartless, not int he good way. Do they even care? Who knows. I am going to have to give the Hawks a Digit Down.
Such a great day for sports, sort of. Only 2 downsides; Jeff Gordan crashed and The Hawks finally lost their 1st game. But other than that the Vikings won, the Packers won, F1 is going to come down to 1 race to decide it all, etc. So I guess I will add on to it by finally showing this LeBron response video made by the great people of Cleveland. I found it humorous and honest and of course I am going to give it a Digit Up!
The NBA season has just begun. Over the Summer everyone was talking about LeBron and Miami and The Big 3 and so on. I was watching every move because ti was good television. Now that the season has started I find myself not that into it...yet. Nothing matters at the moment so I am just not that into it. Even though my favorite team, The Atlanta Hawks, are perfect and unbeaten, I sometimes have no energy to sit and watch them play, live or on television. I do watch, even if I am flipping back and fourth or in a daze. I cannot wait for the season to get good, around Christmas time I guess. At the moment football has all of the drama and is leading the sports shows and grabbing all the headlines, especially since baseball is over. What makes it even odder is that I find myself watching more NHL than NBA and I have not been into hockey since the Lightning won the Stanley Cup way back in 2004. I would have kept watching but in 2005 they cancelled the season. So yes I do plan on watching the NBA when it matters and gets exciting. I do like what I am seeing, even Blake Griffin is playing well for his 2nd season as a pro, 1st in action. Until later I am giving the NBA a Digit Down.
