pain that you could hear and her voice and sadly you could see it a lot of times when she was out in public. I hope her loving parents are okay, her father especially who has been by her side through it all. My one wish is that Dr. Drew does not mention this on any of his shows at all, but sense that will not happen I hope he does not talk about her for more than 5 minutes. Now she is gone and we will have only her music to listen to. I am going to choose to remember the good by listening to my favorite songs by her. I am giving this news 2 Digits Down.Saturday, July 23, 2011
...Amy Winehouse
Sadly I must report, as if it were breaking news many hours later, the one of my favorite singers Amy Winehouse has died at the age of 27. The 1st British female singer to win 5 Gammys in a night joins Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain, just to name a few, to die at the age of 27. There are conflicting reports that say she died of an overdose, though the police have not given an official reason yet. Though I and many others knew this day was coming, we always hoped it would come later rather than sooner. It was just a week ago that my friend and I were talking and I mentioned that I could not wait for her next album to come out, whenever that may be. I hoped it would be soon and was glad that she checked into rehab, yet again. Now that may never be. I am sure there are some unreleased tracks that her label will put into a commemorative album, but it will not be the same. Though there is Adele, a powerful soul singer, she is not Amy. Amy had anger, angst, hurt an
pain that you could hear and her voice and sadly you could see it a lot of times when she was out in public. I hope her loving parents are okay, her father especially who has been by her side through it all. My one wish is that Dr. Drew does not mention this on any of his shows at all, but sense that will not happen I hope he does not talk about her for more than 5 minutes. Arnold Schwarzenegger & Maria Shriver
Earlier today I read two reports about Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. The first was about Arnold and how he did not want to pay spousal support. The couple does not have a pre-nuptial agreement, Shriver is entitled to half of Schwarzenegger's assets. Arnold's lawyer claims the value of the action star's real estate and other holdings remain to be determined. Of course this is a dumb idea on his part. Sure she has Kennedy money, but on her own she does not have as much as he does...maybe. She gave him 4 children and he cheated on her with one women that we know of, and he probably grope more and maybe had sex with more as well. In the end she will either get spousal support or a hefty chunk of change. I was ready to give Arnold a Digit Down until I read the second story.Christopher Schwarzenegger, their 13 year old son, has been hospitalized following a serious surfing accident. The couple came together to be by their son's side. They both released this statement, "A few days ago our son Christopher suffered an accident at the beach. While it has been a very scary week, Christopher is surrounded by his family and friends. On behalf of our entire family, we want to sincerely thank the paramedics and lifeguards who responded so swiftly as well as the doctors, nurses, emergency room and hospital staff who have cared for our son. They have been extraordinary to him and to us. We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and ask for respect and privacy for Christopher and our family." Apparently Christopher suffered a few broken ribs and I believe a broken arm. Maria has been by his side ever since he entered the hospital, she has even been sleeping next to him in his room. I applaud the couple for putting their issues aside for the good
of their family. For this reason I am giving Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver a Digit Up.

Michigan Friday: Looks at 2012 Running Backs
Michigan has 3 different positions in the 2012 class where they will only take one prospect. Those positions include QB, RB and WR. I have previewed options for QB and WR now it's time to look at running back.
#1 option is Ohio running back Bri'onte Dunn who is a 5 star to Scouts and 4 to Rivals. The catch with Bri'onte is that he is committed to OSU but is concerned about the NCAA situation. It seems Michigan is his close #2 school who continues to make up ground on OSU as they try to figure out the NCAA situation. Bri'onte is planning to travel North for the BBQ at the Big House and he will get a chance to rub elbows with many of Michigan's 2012 commits. A unique twist in Dunn's recruitment is that his cousin is a one of the top players in Ohio for the 2013 class named Dymonte Thomas. I have heard that Thomas and Dunn are close and have talked about playing together. Thomas visited Michigan and loved it and the Wolverines are considered his leader right now.
The big question between now and the end of football season will be, can the Wolverines sell Bri'onte on Ann Arbor over Columbus?
The fact of the matter is this position recruitment will not be settled in the short term. It seems Michigan has the best shot at Dunn right now even though he re-confirmed his shaky commitment to OSU a couple of weeks ago. Attending the BBQ at the Big House is a great sign that he might be re-thinking the Wolverines.
The thing to consider is if Ejay Fatu were to commit, would they still take a tailback in this class?

- Keith Marshall is rated the #1 RB in the country by Scouts and he is planning a Michigan visit. Many insiders don't expect him to end up a Wolverine from North Carolina but if they get him on campus they have a punchers chance.
- Ejay Fatu is a FB from Texas and could fill the RB spot as well. FB is sort of like field goal kicker recruiting, you find a lot of guys as walk-ons or take players from other positions. So FB's normally don't get a ton of offers. So for Michigan to offer Ejay he must be a strong prospect.
- Wes Brown sort of is similar to Keith Marshall situation. Wes is a RB from Good Counsel in Maryland which usually has a couple top prospect every year. Keith is a 4 star guy to both Scouts and Rivals.
- Greg Garmon is a 4 star RB from PA and mention here before is a cancer survivor. Greg is another guy Michigan needs to get on campus for an official visit.
