It seems that Christina's plan to get back out there and be seen by the world is starting to pay off. So what she was arrested this week, she is about to get back to work. Christina has signed on to be a coach on the new NBC singing talent show "The Voice". This show already seems like NBC's version of Simon Cowell's "The X Factor". Christina had this to say, "I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists' careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam (Maroon 5's Adam Levine) and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to 'The Voice.'" Mark Burnett is one of the producers of the shows and he had this to say, When I decided to produce 'The Voice,' I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera. Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of 'The Voice.'" Apparently there will be 4 coaches and they will pick singers during blind auditions. Once the coaches have their teams, they will bring in their own songwriters, producers and industry pals to help their teams evolve. On paper this looks good, but I can just see this turning into a horrible Hollywood remake. When I 1st heard that she signed on to do this show I thought of how great this would have been if this was 2005. Christina cannot even get people to buy her music or to listen to her voice in a movie, how is she going to coach someone else? Cee Lo as well. But back to Christina whose voice has risen to a level of annoyance that only Patti LaBelle fans can tolerate. She has other things she should, could be doing rather than being on some B-List reality show that will produce a D-List singer, if that. I wonder if she remembers she has a son? I bet she remembers she had a career! I am giving her a Digit Down. She is making some bad moves and I thin she knows and does not care. I would also like to add that you cannot stage a true comeback, they great ones actually happen.

It seems as if the drinking has aught up to her again. The 1st time would be at the Super Bowl when she made the flub heard round the world. Next would be the possible trip and fall at the Grammys. But now she has gotten arrested or booked, whichever legally sounds best for you. She was the passenger in a car driven by her 25 year old boyfriend Matthew Rutler. He was arrested for DUI. The cops saw that she was intoxicated and could not take care of herself. They took her in for public intoxication. He was held on $30,000 bail. They were both released later. She will not be charged with the misdemeanor. Her height and weight was listed at 5'2" and 100 pounds, which could mean that only maybe 2 bears could push her over the legal limit, although with her recent drinking habits she may have built up a tolerance, who knows. While this could have been much much worse I think that this may be what she needs to straighted up and get help. Although I have a feeling that she may still go back out and try it all over again until something much worse happens. I guess she is melting down so that she could have a resurgence, a super comeback to boost those lagging album sales... She is a mother and while that does not mean she cannot have fun at all, especially being a Hollywood mom, she does need to realize that there are consequences that could not only affect her but her child. This story will not die, and I am not going to be the one to kill it. Of course I am talking about Christina Aguilera's National Anthem flub at the Super Bowl. It was not her 1st time singing it of course, but it will probably be her most memorable. Now the mess up is not really why I am talking about her. She did have this to say about it, "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through." That is all good but apparently there are reports of her stumbling backstage before the performance. Some say that she was probably drunk. This would not be anything new either. Reports say that those close to her say she has been partying and drinking much more lately and that she has been drinking until she passes out. This might be due to her divorce and there are reports that her ex husband and her new guy are all living together in her 10,000 sq. ft. home. Last year her album, Bionic, flopped causing her to cancel her tour due to a lack of sales, and most recently her movie, Burlesques, with Cher was a box office flop as well. She made some remarks about Lady Gaga stealing her style and that did not go over well in the gay community, which support both ladies, supported Aguilera I should say. Unlike Britney Spears who went through something much worse than this Christina Aguilera built her career around her voice and the power of it, but she evolved too quickly and we all grew tired of her voice within years. She wants to get back in the spotlight and she wants the attention she feels she deserves and that she feels less worthy artist are getting, thus why she is back in the clubs trying to show her fans that she is still alive and current. If these reports of her drinking and partying are true then I do hope she gets the proper help she needs. She is a mother now and that is now cool. It is bad enough she resembles Snooki, she does not have to act like her as well. I am giving Christina Aguilera a Digit Down.

Someone is trying a little too hard, way too hard actually, to get back in the spotlight and notice and sell albums and movie tickets again. Her name...Christina Aguilera. It started with her album flopping and people bashing her for bashing Lady Gaga. Then she filed for a divorce from her husband because she wanted to be seen and get back in the spotlight and he said that's not my thing honey. Now, because begin seen holding hands and "dating" a new guy just was not overshadowing Britney Spears, semi-nude photos of her have been "leaked" onto the web and they were apparently stolen from her stylist phone...sure. We all know that she is not as marketable as she was in the mid 2000's and she is trying super hard to show the world that she is still a big star, but this is just too much. If you want to know your problem I will tell you. Simply put you evolved way too fast! In 4 years you went through 3 phases; pop girl, dirty girl, reformed adult pop girl. Now you are just a mom, and nothing more. Wait a few years and come out with something older, more adult contemporary and learn how to use your vocals in a more appropriate way. I doubt they will find the person who "hacked" her stylist phone or computer because I think this was an inside job. I am giving Christina Aguilera a Digit Down for being so desperate.

A day late and a dollar short...or just on time. Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman ave split up after 5 years of marriage. They are officially living apart and a divorce may happen in the future. A friend of the family said that over the last 6 months that they have become less like husband and wife and more like friends. I wonder what she means by that because your spouse is supposed to be your friend so what is the problem? I think people are totally losing the whole meaning of marriages and are looking for fairy tales and happy endings, bu this is life, real life, and marriages have rough patches that can last a day or two or up to a few years. I am giving this a Digit Down because it just does not make sense and they should just stick to it. Although if she does get divorced I hope she goes out and party and becomes relevant again.
