...Men
A recent survery conducted by AskMen.com asked 70,000 men from the United States, Canada, England, and Australia. When asked which female public figure they were most tired of hearing about, the men were presented with the following choices, and the results were as follows:29% Lady Gaga
25% Sarah Palin
17% Kim Kardashian
15% Lindsay Lohan
3% Kate Middleton
3% Pippa Middleton
8% None of the above
When asked the same question about males they were most sick of seeing in the spotlight, the results were as follows:
47% Justin Bieber
20% Charlie Sheen
12% Barack Obama
8% Donald Trump
4% Prince William
3% Mark Zuckerberg
0% Arnold Schwarzenegger
6% None of the above
I will have to agree withthese men, for the most part. Though personally I am more tired of hearign about Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber overall, they got the jist of everything correct. I am going to have to give Men a Digit Up.

...Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has been called the new queen of pop, which I disagree with, but she is the number one female artist in the world at this moment. Now she has a new number one to add to her ever growing list. According to Forbes she number one on their annual list of 100 Powerful Celebrities. She has dethroned Oprah Winfrey. She may not have made as much money as Oprah but her following is just as powerful, if not more powerful. Oprah may have earned $290 million, $200 million more than Gaga, but Gaga's 32 million Facebook fans and 9.5 million Twitter followers aka "Little Monsters" who helped move 1 million digital downloads of her recent single "Born This Way" in only five days are the reason she is topping the list this year. I am sure she will secretly enjoy this achievement, and act like it is all "whatever" in public. I am giving her a Digit Up for achieving something this major so soon.

...Lady Gaga
I have had a feeling for a long time that Lady Gaga would kill her on career due to drug use and over exposure. It seems as if another piece of that ticking time bomb has been added with her latest interview NME.com. She denied allegations that her song "Born This Way" sounds a lot like Madonna's "Express Yourself". This is how it went:"No. Listen to me. Why the [expletive]...? I'm a songwriter. I've written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I'm getting one over on everybody? That's retarded."
"What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about. I will look you in your eyes and tell you that I am not dumb enough or moronic enough to think that you are dumb enough or moronic enough not to see that I would have stolen a melody. If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I'm the first [expletive] artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist, it means that I'm [expletive] smart."
"Nobody in this room at any point looked around and said, 'Oh my God, it's 'Express Yourself.' Not once. Listen. I swear to you. ... It's so funny to hear you say, 'It must have been a homage,' I'm like, NO. When I homage, I [expletive] homage with a big sign saying I've done it. Why would I not do that now?"
"I just don't want my fans... I don't know. This is exhausting. I just don't wanna perpetuate that [expletive]. I'm sure you want to address it but it's just so ridiculous. I was just [expletive] shell-shocked by it."
[Starts crying] "I feel like honestly that God sent me those lyrics and that melody. When you feel a message to give to the world and people are shooting arrows at it... there's no way for something that pure to be wrong."
Well it seems as if she is on a powerful drug, a drug that Charlie Sheen would give up his goddesses for. It is becoming clearer and clear that this woman needs help. I was a fan, and to a certain extent I am a fan. I understand being different and odd and weird and so on, but there has to be a medium in which you come back to so that we, the people, know when Gaga is being Gaga and when Gaga is off her rocker. I am giving Lady Gaga a Digit Down for this early sign of trouble ahead.

...Elton John

Elton John, or Sir Elton John, hosted Saturday Night Live last night and he was not so bad. Basically he was better than Miley Cyrus, though that is not hard to do. He made fun of himself and he confirmed that Lady Gaga was the godmother of his new son. Tom Hanks even joined in for a couple of skits along with Carmelo Anthony, what an interesting combo. Of course there were gay jokes. Actually there were a lot of gay jokes which bordered on the line of offense and unoriginal. But of course what else were they going to do and Elton was okay with them so eh. All in all Elton did just well enough to receive a Digit Up.

...Born This Way

Born This Way is the new album by Lady Gaga that will be released May 23, 2011. I listen to some tracks, do not ask me how I pulled that one off, and I must say that I m not impressed. She has said that this will be the album of the decade, I am not sure about that. Only 2 songs have been confirmed, "Born This Way" and "You and I". She said that there could be up to 20 songs on the album and that it is completely finished. This is what she told the BBC:
"The album is a marriage of electronic music with major, epic, dare I even say, metal or rock 'n' roll, pop, anthemic style melodies with really sledge-hammering dance beats. It's finished and all, it's just fine-tuning everything. It's kind of like the post-operative stage of the album. I've already done the full heart surgery. I'm just sewing myself back up again. I think that lyrically this album is more poetic. It's really written by the fans, they really wrote it for me because every night they're funneling so much into me. So I wrote it for them. Born This Way is all about my little monsters and me, mother monster."

Maybe she is WAY above me and her lyrics will hit me 10...20...30 years from now, but I am just not that into it. I only liked one song out of the 8 I heard and that was Nothing On (But the Radio). It is one of the few true pop/club/dance songs on the album, the others will probably me a commercial success but nothing more than that. I am not sure what people will think when they hear the album. I am sure it will go platinum in a bunch of countries and she will win a lot of awards, but that does not necessarily mean it is as good as the hype surrounding it and her. Like black people voting for Obama in 08', put her face and voice on something and her little fans, which she calls monsters, will buy it and rep it no matter what. I on the other hand am going to give the album a Digit Down. This is premature of course but I am sure I will not be eating my words on this.

...Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift does not sell magazines. What do I mean? Put her on the cover and the magazine will not sell. I think that I know why... She is boring beyond belief. I watch things about her and I listen to her music, she is so boring. She hosted Saturday Night Live, it was boring. No matter what she or anyone else says, if it was not for Kanye's ego and interruption, she would just be "that girl" singing songs. She is a boring country artist and "pop" artist. On stage she is just a skinny girl with a guitar, a guitar that looks too large for her.
Her posture is bad as well, I thought I would through that in there. She is pretty, but even her pretty is boring. Her hair is always the same. When she straighted it she looked much better, but she went back to her safe..boring look. Do you know who does sell magazines? Lady Gaga of course. I am over them both. One is genuinely boring and one started off beyond awesome, but her antics are becoming boring. I am giving Taylor Swift a Digit Down. It is 2011, stay country or get zesty chick.

...Lady Gaga
So if you know Lady Gaga, who does not really, then the fact that she did/does cocaine is not surprising. In the past she admitted to doing bags of cocaine while sitting at home listening to The Cure. She recently told Q Magazine this, "[Using drugs] I really figured out the art I wanted to make and was inspired. Some people find inspiration in dark places. I guess I'm one of them. What always made me different is that if I was doing drugs I was also making music. I wasn't just doing drugs." The problem with this is that a lot of her fans are young lost and impressional. If taken out of context it could be seen as her saying drugs are okay, you will find out everything you need to know through drugs, etc. What makes it even odder is what she said later during the interview, "People who say they need [drugs] to be creative are full of shit. I'm not some chick on the road getting high and fucked up every night. I wake up, drink coffee and get on the phone to talk about the creative direction of the next video." So she admitted she did drugs and that it "helped" but she is not like a Lindsay Lohan or anything, she has her stuff together and knows how to work it and if you do not then shame on you. As a lover of the 80's I know how powerful a drug cocaine is and the good and bad it can cause you. I do think that she should clarify these statements and I think she should do it ASAP. For some reason her fans will stand by this and defend her, I am sure a lot of her fans do some sort of illegal drug, it just make
s sense. I hope she clears theses things up bur for some reason I doubt it. I am conservative yes, but I have a liberal side, but I am never going to approve drugs. I am giving her 2 Digits Down because I think drugs are bad and I think her fans may not fully understand what she tried to say.
