Veteran women's rights campaigner Gloria Steinem calling for a boycott of the new NBC show The Playboy Club. For those who do not know who she is, look her up. She worked as a bunny at a Playboy Club back in the 60's and then wrote a scathing expose about the working conditions of the women there. "Clearly 'The Playboy Club' is not going to be accurate. It was the tackiest place on earth. It was not glamorous at all. When I was working there and writing the expose, one of the things they had to change because of my expose was that they required all the Bunnies, who were just waitresses, to have an internal exam and a test for venereal disease. I expect that 'The Playboy Club' will be a net minus and I hope people boycott it. It's just not telling the truth about the era." She also added that she thinks the show Mad Men show
s the realism of women and men in the 60's. I understand why she is saying this, but she did not have to say anything. I have a good feeling that this show will fail on its own without a boycott. Still I am giving her a Digit Up for taking a stand against something she believes in.
I think Hugh Hefner has gotten the last word, in a way, when it comes to him being dumped 5 days before his wedding to Crystal Harris. Harris was featured on the cover of the new Playboy magazine hitting shelves tomorrow announcing "America's Princess ... Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner." At 1st Hef said he was going to leave the cover as is, but now it seems he has had a much understood change of heart. Now the cover features a large sticker over her that says "Runaway Bride". This makes sense and I think it is a tad funny. Now that I think about it maybe this was all a ploy to sell magazines. As you may or may not know Playboy has been in a little financial trouble due to the rise of free Internet porn...15 years ago. Either way Hef is doing well, so I have been told, and that is why he is getting a Digit Up.
Today it was announced that Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris will not be getting married this weekend...or at all. Over the weekend the couple had an argument and apparently Crystal had a change of heart and moved out of the Playboy Mansion. Crystal's rep. said, "The breakup was amicable. Crystal will now be focusing on her music career and her new single 'Club Queen,' which was released today." Way to plug the song guy. Before the announcement was made public Crystal Tweeted this, "There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth...not going all the way, and not starting." Hint hint hint. I wonder if that was aimed at him or at her possibly dating Sr. Phil's son... I am sure that Holly is secretly happy about this. We all know how much she loved Hef, real or fake, and how badly she wanted to marry him, I am sure she still wants to no matter how much she pretends to have moved on from it.
She was never fully into the idea of Hef marrying someone else, especially not Crystal. This is a good day for her. I think she and Hef should get back together, get engaged and start a new reality show on E! about it. Would you watch? I would, it beats a Kardashian anything any day. Digit Up to Holly.

am not so it makes more sense that way. I am all for this, why not. he was just going to continue to date her until he got bored and got a new chick, or new chicks. I wonder how Holly is taking this? She did get a show, 2 shows, because of her relationship with Hef, and she did want to marry him... Divorces are happening this week, and so are the women who are getting them. Heidi Montag is going back under the knife to get her boobs done..again. I remember on the final season of "The Hills" she mentioned she wanted bigger boobs later in the future. Well the future is here and she has reneged on that.
