...Conan
Conan O'Brien is back on television with his new late night talk show "Conan". His new show comes on TBS at 11 o'clock, and boy is that major. Chelsea Handler and Jon Stewart both have shows that airs at the same time with Leno, Letterman and Colbert to follow at 11:30. Leno and Letterman skew towards an older middle aged audience so they do not have much to worry about but Stewart and Handler may have some true competition. Will the Coco lovers tune in and watch Conan? I am not sure. They might seeing how they did not the 1st time and he was fired, maybe they learned their lessons. With sponsors spending less than many years ago due to the recession, if Conan can attract the 18-49 year old viewers that they love and that Stewart regularly gets, he could put some fire under Stewart and start a new Leno Letterman type ratings war. Now after watching "Conan" tonight it was just like the old Conan back on his old show at 12:30 with Andy at his side. Nothing really was WOW but it felt like he was back into the swing of things, not rusty at all, and his audience seemed to be really happy. ow let us wait a full year and see what happens with him and his ratings and George Lopez, who was moved an hour back to make way for Conan even though George has been with TBS for 2 years and Conan is new... Somehow this is a form of Karma in the making or just ironic, who knows, not me at the moment. I can see Conan doing well but if he does not than he has no one to blame but himself and his flaky young fans. For now I will give Conan a Digit Up.
