...New Cigarette Labels
It seems as if the FDA wants to keep you from smoking, and I approve. Due to a law that passed in 2009 the FDA has the right to regulate the labels and advertising of tobacco products. They have come up with 36 labels that will now take up half a pack of cigarettes to warn you of the dangers of smoking. I am not sure if a few or all of the 36 labels will be used, but they are more graphic than the general warning labels that we see today. Since introducing the warning labels the number of smokers in America has dropped from 40% to 20%, about 46 million adults, but it has been stalled since 2004. Will the new labels be more affective? I am not sure, possibly not a large one, but a small one is good. If you really want people to quit, raise the price even more! If you have to pay $10 a pack, or per cigarette, you will learn to quit ASAP. I am giving this move 2 Digits Up because I just really hate cigarette smoke.
