So if you have not heard the news, here you go. Keith Olberman decided to leave his show and MSNBC Friday. He did not say why per se, and it is not clear if he was fired or if he quit. If you remember he was punished for donating to 3 Democratic candidates running for office in November by being suspended for 2 days. Apparently there were a lot of differences between he and the menagement, typical with any worker. He did have MSNBC's highest rated show and because of that they hired and gave shows to Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell to fill out the primetime line up. Keith had this to saw on his last show, "There were many occasions, particularly in the last 2 1/2 years, where all that surrounded the show — but never the show itself — was just too much for me. But your support and loyalty and, if I may use the word, insistence, ultimately require that I keep going. My gratitude to you is boundless." Beyond this he thanked the fans and Tim Russert but not NBC or its News President Steve Capus. He was one of the leading Liberals on television, he and Chris Matthews have taken a lot of heat for it, but ratings talk because ratings equal cash. Maybe he left because of the soon to be acquisition of NBC by Comcast? Although a spokeswoman said no, you never really know. I am okay with this news though. I think that Keith would do better somewhere else. Where? I will tell you in a minute. Although I do not agree with everything he says and or does, and I do not watch him really, I used to, but not anymore, too Liberal at times for me. So where should he go? RADIO! It is perfect for him. e can be himself there and he would have time for NFL commentary again. I think that will be a great thing for him. Although I doubt ti will happen, he has gotten used to the lights and cameras and media attention, but radio has not stopped Rush Limbaugh at all. I am giving Keith Olberman a Digit Up for leaving.
